Magnificent South Shore Long Island New York Home Beach Sunset iPhone 6S+ Panorama - IMRAN™
It was five years ago, late summer, mid-August, actually my dear cousin Mansoor's birthday, in 2016, when I was at my blessed home on Long Island, New York. I was out for a beach walk, expressing gratitude to the Almighty God at Maghreb prayers for the blessing of living on a private beach.
Several of my neighbors' boats were in the marina to the right as God's painting was shining on the sky in front of me. Flaming clouds tapering off to the right above a gorgeous blue-graded seaside completed the scene.
You can see where the iPhone 6S+ individual photos blend in some spots in the clouds. It was not worth putting too much effort into trying to fix those tiny details. But it was important to share this blessed moment of bliss and beauty even five years after I captured it.

Destination Unknown 2023.1: For A Change, A Florida Sunrise On Climb Out From Tampa - IMRAN™
In general, I’m Mr. Sunsets. I sleep so late I am unlikely to catch sunrises. Unless I’m up 24 hours. And/Or have an early morning flight. Both are true today.
After a gorgeous full moon night, as the green comet passed Earth, I was blessed to see this vivid red sunrise on climb out from TPA (Tampa International Airport).

Flying By A Journey Of Life, A Life Of Journey Flying By - IMRAN™ (Part 6)
The first flight of my life that I wrote about was in a Boeing. If I recall correctly, it was a Boeing 707 flown by then-great people to fly with, Pakistan International Airlines. In later flights I also experienced the Boeing 720, if I can trust memories from more than half a century ago.
I am amazed at the massive changes in size, power, and performance of these planes. Here is the nearly 10-years old Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner I took my latest flight in.
That is half a million pounds — of metal, almost 40,000 gallons of fuel, plus people and stuff. All that is comfortably stuffed into more than 200 feet long fuselage, powered by just two engines producing 71000 lb-feet of thrust. It is hurtling down the nearly 10,000 feet of runway at nearly 200 mph to lift off into the air…. almost silently.
Watch this nighttime takeoff but listen to the almost silent beast taking off. Ironically my first trip abroad from Pakistan in 1987 was on my first non-PIA non-Boeing flight. It was on a Lufthansa Airbus. You can see a Lufthansa airliner at the start of this clip by coincidence. Where do you think I am off to?

It is pretty amazing how great handheld Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max nighttime long-exposure photos come out without one bit of editing. It was a tranquil but dark sea & sky last night so the boardwalk and dock lights created a deep contrast.
