Note, 73109 was built by The English Electric Company Limited (works number 3577) at the Vulcan Works (works number E347) at Newton-le-Willows in 1965 for British Railways as number E6015, being renumbered 73109 on 13th February 1974. It was scheduled to be renumbered as 73253 in 1989, one of six 90mph dedicated locomotives for use on Network South East services but the renumbering did not take place. It was named Battle of Britain 50th Anniversary at Folkestone Central railway station on 8th September 1990 but the nameplates were covered up to allow it to be temporarily named Force O’ Weymouth at Weymouth Quay railway station on 3rd June 1994. The temporary nameplates were supposed to be removed on 7th June 1994 but remained until August 1994 by which time the original nameplates were also visible. 73109 was transferred to South West Trains Limited on 1st April 1995 as part of the privatisation of British Railways
