Preserved Manning, Wardle & Company Limited 0-6-0ST ā€˜Lā€™ class locomotive No17 ARTHUR at Tenterden Town railway station on the Kent and East Sussex Railway. 1967

Note, ARTHUR was built by Manning, Wardle & Company Limited (works number 1601) at Boyne Engine Work in Leeds in 1903. It was acquired by the Kent Portland Cement Company in 1923, was named ARTHUR and used at the Kent Works at Stone. The Kent Portland Cement Company became part of The Associated Portland Cement Manufacturers Limited at some time and ARTHUR was acquired for preservation by/for the Kent and East Sussex Railway as No17 in 1967
