My Sony A7 went once down with the new lens only three weeks old. I tried to fix the broken lens myself, as repair service told that they fix for nearly the price of a new one.
My fix did not work, as the damage was too much. So went for a new one and dissected the broken one.
What you see here is the small motor for focusing seen through the front element of the defect lens.
