An impressive but sad sight as the RAF retires the last C-130 Hercules from service. Three aircraft flew a 7 hour and 21 minute long farewell tour around the UK on Wednesday 14th June 2023. One of the last locations on the route was RAF Halton in Buckinghamshire, where all three flew in formation over the airfield at 1,100 feet.

A very rare aircraft to see in the UK. Having waited on the taxiway for ages it finally moved onto Runway 28 while a cloud floated in front of the sun, hence this rearward shot being uploaded. Using the callsign 'Titan' it departed Mildenhall to Andravida in Greece, to refuel five Indian Air Force Mirage 2000I's returning home from the March 2023 Cobra Warrior exercise. Despite being based on such an old aircraft type, this airframe is 20-years old having been delivered in 2003. A great sight and sound to experience.

With the engines running and the door closed, the Canadian Herc sits under the floodlights for a few minutes before taxiing away to return to Prestwick. Some light rain fell at the same time, giving the aircraft and ramp a rather glossy look!
