The forecast looked grim. When I left home, it was 95% cloud, and when we arrived at Rushton, it was raining. However, in the distance, some blue could be glimpsed, and it was coming our way. Just as things started to brighten up, HORROR!!! A certain Mr.Moore arrived, and that can only mean on thing, impending bad luck! However, for once, we both had good fortune, as the 2 Choppers, 20189 and 20142 appeared in the middle of a large blue hole as they work 6D02 11:28 Wellingborough-Mountsorrel on the 23rd of January 2014. I hope Kevin had better luck with 66721 at Brampton than I did at Wilsons, I was clouded, but drove all the way home in full sun of course. But overall happy with today, even though I would have preferred the boxes over the discharge train!!

I only came here as I had business to attend to later in the day locally. It 'should' have also coincided nicely for the Colas 70`s on the Westbury-Bescot, but they somehow got held at Whitacre for a considerable amount of time. I did at least manage to capture this early running 6M56 Berkeley-Crewe 'Coal' but took a risk of capturing the train between the speed restriction signs, and as a result, felt a square crop suited it best. Maybe I should have opted for a more head on shot, but this place, as do many others, has gets more overgrown with each visit! Ryecroft Junction, 10th July 2014. The locomotives are 20304 and 57008
