I found a way to get up to the ridge above Tumalo Falls using some narrow forest roads on Sunday. There are places up there that you can see for 100 miles, including this magnificent view of the Three Sisters mountains. This shot alone made it worth it to me to get a few scratches on my 4Runner. I think coming back to this spot at a blazing sunset would be epic and so I'll be waiting for one. This shot had boring color so I made it a black and white and emphasized the dynamic range and sharpness with a heavy vignette and blur vignette for dreamyness.

I revisited this place today, and the falls colors were amazing. Curiously, around the falls and creek, the color changes later here than the deep red and oranges along the trail to the ravine, so I took note of that. I got several other compositions, but I like this one best I think. This is a time stack as the wind down there was really strong. Topaz denoise came in handy on the faster one as I had raise the iso pretty high to keep the leaves still.

A view of The Three Sisters from the around the Dee Wright Observatory (basically a little lava rock castle in the middle of a desolate lavafield). If there's one thing Oregon has, it's lava rock.
