We did a wandering around rural photo safari the other day and returned to this place where I had been several years ago. They have a fairly large fenced in lot full of old junk cars most of which were VW's. Previously I had shot over the fence, but this particular bug (I think it is a '68) happened to be outside the fence where getting a detail shot was easy. If you are looking for old VW bug parts, I'd say this would be a great place to start.
I owned several VW's back in the day and while driving one regularly, built a Meyers Manx dune buggy using parts from several others. In retrospect, I should have kept that thing instead of selling it to a friend as I lost the garage I was using when we bought a house w/o one. And so it goes.
