Taken at the ATCA (Antique Truck Club of America) truck show held annually at the Macungie Memorial Park in Macungie, Pennsylvania. I believe this old fire engine was built by the Buffalo Fire Appliance Co. on a Larrabee chassis. I had never before heard of Larrabee trucks or the Buffalo Fire Appliance Co.
From Coachbuilt.com:
"Buffalo Fire Appliance Co. - 1920-1948 - Buffalo, New York.
Beginning in 1920 this company built fire equipment on commercial chassis including Reo and Larrabee. From 1927 they used their own chassis but commercial chassis such as Ford Model A were also employed. Limousine pumpers were made from 1937, and in 1939 came a new streamlined series; this received a new grille in 1946, but otherwise there was little change until the end of production in 1948."

I couldn't find a manufacturer anywhere on the truck, but WarrenS52 informed me that it is a '50's vintage Diamond T Model 830. Thanks Warren. Apparently it was a truck used by the Botkins, Ohio Fire Department. Somehow the cab had been dented in pretty severely and I doubt that it has run in quite some time although I was thrown by how white the word "Goodyear" is on the front tire. A week after I found this truck, by chance, I met a guy who had a large collection of trucks and told him about this one. He said he had sold the truck to the current owner some years ago. His memory was that it is a 1958 Model 621 and that the cab was dented by an I beam that fell on it during a snow storm that partially collapsed the roof of the building where it was stored. Luckily the beam missed several other Diamond T's in his collection. The gentleman is the VP of the local chapter of the American Truck Historical Society and seemed extremely knowledgeable.

Taken at the ATHS (American Truck Historical Society) Truck Show and Convention held at the Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington, Kentucky.
At events like this one, I often take shots of the signs owners put on their trucks so I'll know the exact model and year of the vehicle. Other times, i find I can blow up the picture of the vehicle that has a sign on it and be able to read the sign. At this show, there were so many trucks, I was concerned about my battery or energy running out. I also passed up some trucks or detail shots I would have liked to have for the same reason. The front Mack logo on this one would have been a good one to take.

Taken at the Miles Greenwood Historical Fire Apparatus & Fire Truck show held at Oeder's Lake in Morrow, Ohio.
I've only seen 2 FWD branded trucks that I remember. They first started making four wheel drive vehicles in 1908 and had their name changed to Seagrave in 2003.

Seen in the Glendale suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. You don't see many black fire trucks, but I think it was a good choice.
