(Added on 2/9/2022) Oh how the times have changed and even my tune has evolved now that the Bengals are Super Bowl bound. I guess I need to eat some crow for my sour grapes comments I wrote when I originally posted this shot. I'm still not a major football fan, but I wish the Bengals well for the joy they have brought to the city this year (2022).

West End area of Cincinnati, Ohio. While this truck is fairly rusty and obviously not in mint condition, it appears to still be operable. Because of local laws, I wouldn't think it could just be left on the street for extended periods of time. Then again, maybe the police don't even go into this neighborhood. My guess is that a Bengal's fan may use it in tailgating activity. There were a couple other old cars covered by tarps or behind fences on the adjacent property.

I was surprised to find it in the West End as my sense of the neighborhood is that most residents in that area couldn't afford a ticket to a Bengal's game, but I suppose that is not a reason to preclude them from being fans. A much better reason would be that the Bengal's ownership has taken the city to the cleaners over the years which has claimed funds that might have been better spent to improve their neighborhood and provide much needed services. Another reason is that the team has sucked for so many seasons.

If the truck were mine (and I wish it were), I certainly would never have painted it with the Bengal's theme which I consider an embarrassment. The team's uni's are the ugliest in the NFL and maybe all of professional sports. Further the owners are such jerks that it wouldn't surprise me that they would sue the guy for copyright infringement.

Can you tell I'm a big Bengal's fan?

The framework over the bed reminds me of vegetable vendors who used to peddle their goods around town in the old days.

Lebanon, Ohio. I think this was a work in progress although I have no idea how far the owner planned on taking it. He may cherry it up or might leave it pretty much as it is in this shot. Either way, it looked to be a fun little pickup to own and drive.

SE Indiana. The Indiana state slogan on their licence plates a few years back was appropriately, "Wander Indiana". You never can tell what you'll find when you wander Indiana with the Snakedoctor and his wife, the Snakenurse, but you can count on finding something of interest. This was just one small find we made on a particularly fruitful Winter day. It sits in front of what looks like a business where they restore Model A's. Even though it was closed on the day we stopped by, there were at least six Model A's on the premises. They ranged from super cherry down to little more than frames. I think this one was being used as part of an advertising landscape display.

The ring on the plaque on the side says "Texas Company USA - Petroleum Products". Seems like that is a long way of saying what the middle of the ring says: "Texaco".

I'm hoping to get back some day when they are open and the sky is better for photography.

Marblehead, Ohio. We were driving home from a weekend photography workshop on Kelley's Island when I saw this beautiful IH pickup outside the Canoe Club Wine Bar in Marblehead, Ohio. Even after the beautiful sunsets and sun rises we had taken, there was no way I could resist shooting this jewel. What better way to advertise your establishment and you might well be able to write off the cost of the truck as a business expense.

Hopefully, someone will be able to provide me with the year and model information. Thanks to pspeak60 for model and year ID.

Columbus, Ohio. We had just finished a visit to the Columbus Museum of Art on a beautiful morning and were looking for something to shoot when I spotted this spotted pickup. It was parked in the lot of the Columbus College of Art and Design which is right behind the museum. Just as I got set to take some pictures, the truck's owner came out of the building and put some of his stuff into the cab so, I asked if he minded if I took a few shots. He agreed and this is one of the resulting images. Not the greatest shot I ever took, but I thought his outfit and pork pie hat completed the scene fairly well.
