Milford, Ohio. I've seen and photographed this car at several shows over the years, but never knew who owned it until this Fall. The funny thing is that I had spoken to it's owner, Chuck, on several occasions, but our conversation always related to one of his cool trucks. He never mentioned the car until I went to his home to photograph his trucks. He pulled this beauty out of a garage adjacent to where he keeps and works on his trucks. I had actually shot the car a few weeks prior at the Pumpkin Run.
Chuck and several of his relatives live and farm in rural SW Ohio on land that has been in the family for a long time. A road with the family name cuts through some of the property. It seems like many of the family own interesting old vehicles. I've photographed some others and hope to post them in the future.
I really appreciate Chuck allowing me to visit his place and photograph his vehicles in a setting devoid of all the distractions that are present at a show.

2011 Pumpkin Run National held at the Clermont County Fairgrounds in Owensville, Ohio. A fixture at car shows in the Cincinnati area, this 1937 GMC cab over engine is a show stopper and may be my favorite of all times. I've taken an unbelievable number of pictures of various details of it as well as the entire truck. Unfortunately, I never seem to catch it in the right setting and light to do justice to the entire vehicle. Any time I see Chuck, the owner, I say "Love the truck" hence the title. Although it has changed some over the years, he says he has no plans to paint it or fix it up more he has. I hope he doesn't.
Update 10/22/2012 Turns out that Chuck has a whole fleet of trucks. I went to his place to get some shots of the other ones. After shooting his, we jumped in the Big Red truck and went to his brother's place down the road to shoot some of his collection. Having had a ride in this truck, I feel like I am fulfilled. Chuck told me that he got this truck from one of the Dakotas.

Milford, Ohio. One of my all time favorite trucks for obvious reasons. I don't generally like to post two pictures of the same thing, but I have to make an exception on this one mostly to show Chuck's next project on the back of his wonderful '37 GMC COE. It will be interesting to see what he does with this panel truck although it looks like it might take some time and effort to get it back on the road under it's own power.

Milford, Ohio. I've been badgering Chuck for quite some time to let me visit him at his place and get some shots of his fleet. He graciously agreed and we recently hooked up for a shoot.
This is his latest addition. He found it in a barn where it had been for some 30 years without seeing the light of day. Chuck loaded it on his Big Red GMC hauler and took it home. He took the hauler around to various shows with the Ford still on it, but recently unloaded it in his "barn" shop where you see it here. Since he's been working on his panel truck, he hasn't gotten around to seeing if he can start this one, but it looks to be in pretty good shape. From what I saw, I'd say that Chuck has a bunch of projects to keep him busy for a while.
