Civil War Memorial Day Ceremony held at Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in the Spring Grove Village neighborhood of Cincinnati, Ohio. Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Sister Anthony O'Conneil Auxiliary and the Sixth Ohio Volunteer Infantry reenactment group conducted a patriotic ceremony in memory of thousands of Civil War Veterans who are buried in the cemetery. This is a tradition started by the Grand Army of the Republic in 1868.

Taken at the Annual History in Bloom Event held at the Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in Cincinnati Ohio. The event features portrayals of famous or important Cincinnatians who are buried in the cemetery. They are stationed around the grounds near where their character is buried and tell the story of the person they are representing to visitors who are driven around in horse drawn carriages from character to character.

Born in Cincinnati on November 2, 1826, he served in the Mexican war as captain; became a member of the Ohio legislature; ran for lieutenaut-governor in 1857; was a major-general of the Ohio militia; commanded the Fourth Ohio Regiment in General O.M. Mitchel's brigade in the civil war; was killed at the Battle of Chickamauga (Georgia) on September 20, 1863.
