SW Ohio. This is another of the Diamond REOs that came to Dan and Joe's place for their small show. I had never seen a Diamond REO like it before. I guess the ones I've seen before had steel bodies rather plastic like this one appears to be. My guess is this is one of the last few years Diamond REO produced trucks. I thought the configuration of the front bumper was different, perhaps with the thought of aerodynamics.

Cincinnati chapter of the American Truck Historical Society (ATHS) show in Fairborn, Ohio. This cool old COE (cab over engine) GMC cracker box with a 233 Detroit diesel engine and a 10 speed transmission has been relegated to the back lot at Howard's where it looks like it has been left to rot. I hope not. Although it wasn't made part of today's show, I think it should have been.

Although the towing rigging isn't there, I'm pretty sure this is an old wrecker (tow truck) and is another of Jerry Howard's wonderful collection of historic trucks. I'm hoping that he'll restore it to the same level of show condition that several other of his trucks are. You just have to love that powerful looking distinctive grill.

I was certainly alive and old enough to remember trucks like these, but I can't say I do or that I ever saw one before. This one seems to be kept inside out of the elements and is certainly of show quality. Impressive.
