Buck's Automotive Service Center in Tucson, Arizona. I have no idea what this beauty was doing at Buck's which looks like a general mechanics garage. Perhaps it was there for an oil change. Regardless, I'm glad to have found it. The old Packards are classics and this one is even better than most I've seen. What a great paint scheme.

If anyone can tell me the year and model, I'd certainly appreciate it.

Tombstone, Arizona. I guess an old Packard hearse is the appropriate symbol and attention getter (caught mine) for the Boothill Trading Post. Still, I wish they would offer more respect to such a classic old vehicle. This grand old ride deserves to be restored.

Taken in Tubac, Arizona. Tubac is an artist colony South of Tucson. We went there to look for art objects to buy and came upon this old Hudson as we were walking around town. The light was horrible at the time, but I took a few shots and then went about shopping with the hope that, by the time we would return, the sun would have moved sufficiently to allow a better show. No such luck and the people I was with cared less about me getting a shot of a cool old car and so weren't about to wait around any longer. So it goes.

The Arizona licence plate was from 1977. While a bit on the rough side, the car certainly looked like it could readily be restored, one of the benefits of being in a desert climate where rust isn't a major issue..
