Taken at the ATHS' Ohio Vintage Truck Jamboree held a the Ashland County Fairgrounds in Ashland, Ohio.
I wanted to take a good picture of this beast, but there was a large sign sitting in front of the grill and a golf cart with a man sitting in it in front of the truck. I asked the man in the cart if the owner was around to which he answered "Yes". Some men were cleaning the side of the truck so I asked one if he was the owner. He answered that the owner was the gentleman sitting in the cart. I guess Ken had been playing with me, but i want back and asked him if I could move the sign and if he'd move the cart. I then thought it might be nice to get a shot of him in front of his truck to which he agreed. He seemed interested in possibly getting a copy of any photo I took of him or his truck so I gave him my card.

Out of all the great trucks at the show, this one immediately caught my eye due to it's size, paint job, the fact that it is an Oshkosh, a brand you don't see a ton of, and I happen to love big wreckers and this one is huge. The cab design on this one is typical of the brand. Oshkosh builds specialty and military trucks. This one weighs 99,000 pounds and was used in Desert Storm.

I first saw and fell in love with this truck at last year's ATHS National Show in Lexington, Kentucky. Unfortunately, when I saw it there, it was getting late in the day, I was getting pretty tired from enjoying most of the near 1000 trucks there and the truck was drawing a lot of attention from the admiring crowd so I took a few shots and then moved on w/o spending the time I would have liked to enjoying it.
It was one of my favorite from that show and remained so when I saw it at this show. I was fortunate enough to meet and talk to the owner, Janet this time.

This wonderful truck, which I'm assuming was originally used as a milk truck or something similar, is a club project of the Motor City Chapter of the ATHS. They worked on it from 2012 until 2019. I didn't ask it this was it's show debut, but it wouldn't surprise me. They should be very proud. I wonder who gets to keep it or if they pass it around from time to time.
