Near Horicon Marsh in Wisconsin. It was very cold and windy and we weren't prepared for it. We were also in a hurry and so I was having difficulty getting the people I was with to stop long enough for me to get a shot or two so, I didn't come home with much in the way of pictures. It's a shame to travel that far and not come home with more.

Taken in Guilford, Indiana.

Notice that the poles holding up the overhanging roof are logs rather than purchased milled lumber. This place is the real deal. This seems to be proof that maintaining a good roof can pay dividends.

Taken at a hay field of a farm near Petoskey, Michigan.

I've never fully understood why farmers tend to leave their expensive tractors and equipment out in the weather when not in use. You'd think they'd want to protect their investment. The dairy farmer I worked for certainly tried to keep his tractors under cover. I guess they don't want to use the gas needed to get back to the barn and don't expect much vandalism in the country.

Another thing you see very often that I don't really understand it the lone tree in the middle of a field. Why did they leave just one tree in the field? So they had a shady place to eat lunch? I need to ask a farmer the next chance I get.
