Appropriately this was taken at the annual Spring Grove Car show held in Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Because I love Packards from this era, my jaw dropped when I saw this. Immediately, I wanted to take pictures of it, but the hood was up and all the doors were open revealing all the changes and bling. I asked the woman standing by if she was connected to the owner. She said it was her boyfriends and that he was off registering the car for the show. I asked if she would close the doors and hood.
She agreed and proceeded to do so. I took some shots and then the owner returned. I hope he didn't chew her out for closing everything. I told him that his car made my day and relayed that I had attended a camp in Vermont when I was 14 . The owner/director of the camp drove around it in a Packard phaeton of a similar vintage and he let kids wet from swimming ride with him on the leather seats. The year after I last attended the camp, he got a hearse just like this one.

The body is original and was made by the Henney Motor Company of Freeport, Illinois, but that is about all that remains original. Among all the changes made to the interior and running gear probably the most notable is the 468 big block Chevrolet with a 671 supercharger. The total package is stunning, but to be perfectly honest, I think I'd prefer that it had been restored to it's original condition throughout other than perhaps better suspension and brakes. While beautiful, I'd prefer a more stately color like black, navy or maybe a dark maroon. Still there is no way I'd complain about anything.

Tombstone, Arizona. I have to show a front view also. What a jewel this must been in it's hay day.

I'd appreciate any information on the year.

Tombstone, Arizona. I guess an old Packard hearse is the appropriate symbol and attention getter (caught mine) for the Boothill Trading Post. Still, I wish they would offer more respect to such a classic old vehicle. This grand old ride deserves to be restored.

Taken in Saintes Maries Del La Mer, France.

This seem to be what we in the states would call an EMS vehicle. The sign at the top of the van translates to "Firefighters of the mouth of the Rhone". The one in the middle translates to "Rescue & Assistance for Victims"

Yes, it was a very sunny day, but because of the proximity of the ocean and the wind, it was colder than it looks in this shot.

I don't remember ever seeing a white hearse before, only ambulances. When this one pulled up, I thought it might be an ambulance, but have changed my mind because of the Landau top and curtains in the side window. .
