O'SHAUGHNESSY'S ANOLE Anolis gemmosus. This O'Shaughnessy's Anole was observed on October 13, 2015 at the Sachatamia Lodge (1700 meters elevation) above Mindo in northwestern Ecuador. This tiny, beautiful anole was foraging on low leaves less than a meter above ground level and after exploring one leaf it would jump to another leaf. This photo captures the anole perching on a leaf next to a reddish insect at 12:34 PM. This anole then jumped to the right to another leaf out of view. It did not eat the red insect sitting at the tip of the leaf.

O'Shaughnessy's Anole is a lizard found on the Pacific slope of the Andes in Ecuador and the Department of Nariño in Colombia.

Anolis gemmosus conocido por un nombre común sumamente largo, Camaleón Sudamericano Gema del Subtrópico, perchando sobre una hoja a las 12 y 34 de la tarde el 13 de octubre de 2015 en Sachatamia Lodge, cerca de Mindo, en el noroeste de Ecuador.
