Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Turbine Steamer MONAS ISLE laid up awaiting the scrap man at Morpeth Dock, Birkenehead in October 1980.
Built by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead in 1950. She had a service speed of 21.5 knots.
She was withdrawn at the end of the 1980 summer season. During 1980 she appeared as a cross channel ferry in the movie "Chariots of Fire" which was being filmed on Merseyside.
She departed Birkenhead bound for scrap in the Netherlands on October 30, 1980.
