Iarnrod Eireann Class 2600 DMI departing Cóbh for Cork City. The line up of Galvin's coaches had returned from excursions operated for passengers on Fred Olsen Lines' MS BOUDICCA which was on a cruise to Cóbh and Dublin from Liverpool.

The harbourside railway terminal at Cóbh was once an important arrival and departure point for passengers using trans-Atlantic liners until the 1960s. Part of the station was given a heritage make-over in the 1990s and is the Cobh Queenstown Heritage Centre which now welcomes thousands of passengers from around the world arriving on cruise ships.
