Air raid canteen located within the walls of Cardiff Castle. The tunnels running under the ramparts of Cardiff Castle were converted for use as air raid shelters during World War II. With the castle being located in the city centre the tunnels provided an ideal refuge and offered accommodation for around 1,800 people. This is one of the refreshment areas. Period music and air raid sound effects make a wander through these tunnels an interesting experience.
