My father John William Luxton can be seen looking at German World War II V weapons Nearest the camera is a V1 "doodle bug" flying bomb and in the back ground on its transport trailer V2. This was the world's first successful ballistic missile. Both V1 and V2 were used in the closing stages of World War II.
Following World War II the Americans and Russians developed space programmes using the scientists and technology which developed these weapons.
This was my one and as yet only visit to the Museum at RAF Cosford. Must make a return visit in 2023 to see how it has developed in the past 30 years.
