MONAS ISLE seen in the previous photograph seen at at different location in Birkenhead Docks shortly before departing for scrap in October 1980.
Built by Cammell Laird, Birkenhead in 1950. She had a service speed of 21.5 knots.
She was withdrawn at the end of the 1980 summer season. During 1980 she appeared as a cross channel ferry in the movie "Chariots of Fire" which was being filmed on Merseyside.
She departed Birkenhead bound for scrap in the Netherlands on October 30, 1980.

Believed to be around 1995 this is one of the Model Boat Gatherings at Ellesmere Port Boat Museum A less interesting slide shows the Holiday Inn being completed which dates this around 1995, when the hotel was completed.
