Denny Hulme leads Jackie Stewart past the pub in Burnenville at the 1968 Grand Prix of Belgium, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The pub regulars started the race by the building on the left, each lap they edged a little closer to the action. That's the flag marshal standing on the right, not so safely positioned on the outside of the corner with a brick wall behind him.
Hulme broke a half shaft and dropped out and I went home thinking Jackie Stewart had won. Next day I find Bruce McLaren's smiling face on the sports page, Stewart ran out of gas after he passed me on the last lap and McLaren was the winner.
