Thought I would upload a few sunset shots taken last weekend to brighten up a very dull and gloomy day! Taken at Rhossili Beach - hope you like them!

The topographical similarity between the Upper Derwent Valley and the Ruhr Valley of Germany led to the dams being used as a practice environment for the Lancaster bombers of the 617 Dam Busters Squadron in 1943 before their attack on the Ruhr dams. The Dam Busters film was subsequently filmed at the Derwent Dams, and the area sees occasional commemorative flypasts by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Apologies for the poor quality of the shots - very much non intentional camera shake due to the extreme gale! A few shots of people and animals taking rather silly risks. It was so windy at Rhossili that I did not venture very far from the car park! I leave it to you to decide if you think the people were putting themselves at risk.

Taken yesterday at Llangennith beach in Gower. I spotted an adder trying to each a large toad. Totally gruesome I know but although I often see adders I have never seen one in a battle with a toad before. The toad puffed itself up and eventually the adder slithered off. I am not sure if the toad was going to survive as it had probably been bitten by the adder. Just been advised that the snake is a grass snake not an adder.
