in mid-2015 I attended a meeting at which the choice between St Leonards and Crows Nest was being discussed as an ideal location for a station on Stage 2 of Sydney Metro. Now two and a half year later first sods are being turned for the station.

These works, along with other preliminary works on other sties including the Chatswood dive site and city stations herald the construction of the second stage of the metro which will link Cudgegong Road in Sydney's North-West to Bankstown in the city's south-west. On the way it will travel under the harbour, and the city before emerging at Sydenham.
