The first time I went out to photograph trains, a bike ride to Sway after school. Merchant Navy 35024 'East Asiatic Company' with the down 'Royal Wessex' in 1961 or possibly 1962. By this date the MK1 coaches had been replaced with Bulleid stock complete with coach roundels.

35013 'Blue Funnel Certum Pete Finem' with a special for the opening of the ESSO Fawley Refinery. The date was probably September 14th as that was the day the refinery was officially opened by the prime minister Clement Attlee.

30863 'Lord Rodney' at Southampton Central, the headcode discs show it to be an Inter-regional train and as it has Gresley coaches it probably came from the Eastern Region possibly York - Bournemouth.
