In my specialised series produced for the 'Trackscapes' Group, I have captured the attractive and now isolated rails left on Admiral's Quay, Ocean Village, Southampton. I think they offer both historic interest and, in the right light, produce aesthetically pleasing images in their own right.

Network SouthEast, created in 1982, ceased to exist fifteen years later in 1997. A further seventeen years on, this extraordinarily neglected sign can be seen at the Shacklegate Lane entrance to Strawberry Hill Depot. I hope this picture shows that a pleasing composition can be made of the most mundane subject.

Probably no single area in London, with the possible exception of the Olympic site, is changing as much as London Bridge. I actually find it as depressing as I do exciting simply because it all takes so long. The actual station development in the wake of the construction of The Shard is due for completion in 2014/15. I went for a look round the area today. This now disused building is at the confluence of (the closed) Railway Street and London Bridge Street.

Perhaps surprisingly, Kidderminster Station Signal Box on the Severn Valley Railway dates from only 1987.
