This ex-Gwent Police Focus, CN57DXC, had a short career in Wales but still accumulated about 140,000 miles as I discovered in conversation today with its owner, Alan Clack. Initially deployed as a Rapid Response Vehicle, it is marked here as a Dog Unit. It is driven daily but shown under the umbrella of Police Car UK. At Bursledon Brickworks open day on 19 August 2012, a theme of 'From Bikes to Steam' meant that this vehicle brought two bicycles instead of dogs which might, in any case, have not especially enjoyed the hot weather on this occasion. This car is the successor to Alan's earlier Focus shown here at Gunwharf Quays.
Whereas police vehicles in service are permanently marked, preserved examples such as these have magnetic markings which are an expensive part of their preservation.

I am not sure that the bucket adds a lot to this composition but, in the bright sunshine, I decided that this would be an acceptable shot at a Bursledon Brickworks open day.

The Field-Marshall tractor PSJ324 at Bursledon Brickworks open day was, for me, the key non-rail exhibit.
