At the Wall/An der Mauer (1)

Potsdamer Platz was a place for tears - mine at least. To view the Wall and to mount the viewing platform and gaze into the East was a very moving experience. The Wall offended the human spirit but it was that spirit which prevailed when, little more than a year after this visit, the Wall fell. By this stage, the extensive no-mans land was no longer a killing ground which probably accounts for its vaguely park-like appearance.
