There are very similar views of the site of the former Verwood station (Salisbury & Dorset Junction Railway) on the internet but this is my own picture taken to be as up to date as possible. The conservatory is, in fact, part of the Albion Inn and the beer garden on the station site (closed 4 May 1964).

The photographs I have seen depicting the site of the former Ringwood station (Southampton & Dorchester Railway) look down from the bridge in this picture which carries Crow Arch Lane over the trackbed. I chose a view towards Holmsley from track level which, I think, would have been a little east of the station (closed 7 August 1967).

In this image, two very different genres collide. This street art by an unknown artist in Embankment Way, Ringwood is on gates across the former trackbed of the erstwhile Southampton & Dorchester Railway near the site of the former Ringwood station. Industrial/commercial units occupy some of the space between here and Crow Arch Lane and nearby land is designated for residential development.

The most significant relic of the closed section(s) of the former Meon Valley Railway is the station building at Droxford (actually a little way from the village of the same name). Now a private residence, it appears beautifully preserved and this is one view from Station Road. (As a private residence, this former station building is not quite so easy to photograph from the platform side but it is possible to do so with an appropriate camera from a public footpath and without directly intruding on the privacy of the residents).

With the benefit of the dispassionate view we can take 50 years after Beeching it is not surprising that many railways closed and, indeed, had done before that fateful report. Given the inevitability of such events, we should perhaps be grateful that many former trackbeds survive as beautiful walks and cycle paths. This is the route of the former Meon Valley Railway just north of Droxford and looking north towards West Meon. The parapet is part of the bridge across the B2150.
