We don't usually do transport interchanges well in the UK but Altrincham Interchange is an exception. An attractively glazed and curved building marks the interface between bus and rail transport including Metrolink.

Lancaster Services (M6) formerly known as Forton is inadequate and cramped; one of the poorer areas left on the motorways where improvements have undeniably been made. However, it has M&S Food and you can not do better for lunch on a motorway.

Its landmark tower is hideous and really had to be photographed.
