With the arrival of the cruise ship Viking Sea still being processed it was quiet in front of this branch of RBC Royal Bank. The roadway is used for tour bus pick up and drop off during a cruise ship visit.

One of my first glimpses of a new island destination as the sun rose over Dominica.

Dame Mary Eugenia Charles Blvd. in the capital, Roseau, was partially closed for a market and, further south (right of shot), for access to and from the cruise ship berth.

As I went ashore at Roseau on a first visit to Dominica, I did, indeed, feel welcome and nothing during the day then ahead diminished that feeling. The island has experienced hardships but is very charming. We went on a short walking tour after our organised excursion.
