Don Pedro Sanz was governer of a politico-military district that existed 1853-1917 (Province of Romblon today), Romblon City, Romblon Island. This photograph is identified as Manila and his son-in-law did live in Manila.
This suggests to me that transition from Spanish to American rule was slow in some provinces away from Manila with the Spanish officals staying in place under the Americans. If the days had 48 hours and I had more time I would like to study this part of Philippine history. If you know about Don Pedro Sanz or any of this please comment.
I am posting this to see if there is any interest in this part of Philippine history.
Photograph is from an album of Dean C. Worcester (1866-1924), Photographs of the Philippine Islands.
Original print is the property of the University of Michigan Library Special Collections.
