This is looking southeast from Plaza Santa Cruz towards Plaza Goiti (Plaza Lacson today). Santa Cruz Church is on the left. Just right of center is the Roman Santos Building. Both buildings are still there today. The Santa Cruz Church was heavily damaged during the Battle for Manila 1945 and was rebuilt. The Roman Santos Building has been extended up five more stories. Considering the automobiles this is about 1930.

Picture is looking east probably from the Aduana Building. A rare picture; this is the only picture I have seen of the Puerta de Santo Domingo from inside. The Americans removed the gate and wall, Baluarte de Santo Domingo, that went around and enclosed the Aduana Building in 1903 to give better access to the Pasig River wharf area and to open a road to Intramuros from Magallanes Drive.
