Just like in March last year, I went to the windmills again yesterday with my child. Only this time with my son, who also wanted to take some pictures here. In a time where a lot of classmates and other peers are already glued to little screens several hours a day (and he would be no different as I would let him), I think it’s important to do this every now and then, and definitely when he asks you to. I wasn't exactly eager to jump in the car, but when I arrived I and saw the beautiful conditions I immediately got some fresh energy. Yes, the screenglue also affects my more than I’d like to admit. My children seem to have a good influence on the conditions, considering this earlier visit with my daughter: www.flickr.com/photos/153407093@N07/53633511271/in/datepo... I (and thousands of others) have shot this location many times now and this makes it harder to be pleased with the photographs I take here, but I never could resist taking this classic composition in this light. However, what I even enjoyed more was seeing my son also have a great time, outside in the golden light.
And yet my favourite photo was still about to be taken. Anyone familiar with you being the one that is always missing on the photos, since you’re always the person standing behind the camera? Although I love doing it, it would be nice that some acquaintances and who knows later generations would know I was actually also a part of my family, and one that cared! Well, I guess it’s a sacrifice we have to make. Please don’t take this too seriously, I don’t even like being in the picture that much! But where it became a bit of a problem was with my profile picture here on Flickr, for which I never really had a suitable photo. When the sun just went down, I asked my little son to take a picture of me, just for practicing purpose and although the camera was a bit heavy for a six year old he managed to use the back button focus properly and fired of some shots. And wow did I liked them! Even my position in the frame was just perfect, for a profile picture for example😊 Beautiful conditions or not, this turned out to be the best photo of the day, thank you little man!

We visited a local marsh during high tide when the rising waters force Soras and rails out of their usual habitats, creating a rare opportunity to spot these elusive birds.
