"You're pointing that darned camera at me again?"
A year ago there was snow on the ground, but it was raining. That's not really ideal weather for much of anything, so once again I found all my photographs in the house. The best were of the cats.
Sal was looking at the weather through the front window until I distracted her.
Luke was again atop the box on the file cabinet, just like he'd been a couple days before. I labeled the daily photo Skywalker because that's where his moniker came from--he was named (sort of) after his mother, Yoda, who was named for her looks. Staying with the Star Wars theme just seemed natural.
I did make it out of the house, finally, to a physical therapy session. Apparently I didn't find any photographs during that outing.

So here we are at another Keweenaw copper mine; this is Painesdale, Michigan in the autumn of 1990.
Back when I was an active rail fan, I'd attend the annual get togethers of the South Shore Special Interest Group of the Soo Line Historical and Technical Society. On this trip I was accompanied by my brother and my sister, though in other years I went alone. Over the course of the weekend we visited several locations in Houghton and Keweenaw Counties. I got some good pictures, we heard some interesting talks, and in general had a good time.
And never in my life have I seen such vivid fall colors. Only last autumn's trip to East Jordan rivals it.
Photo taken with a Minolta point and shoot and scanned from a Kodak Gold 100 negative.

Last January 22 was laundry day, so I didn't try anything ambitious for my daily photo project. Around noon I wandered through the snow-covered yard taking high-contrast photos with the aperture at f/2.8, mostly of our garden's flowers and our trees' branches.
The resulting images were rather abstract. I'm kinda proud of 'em.

Quincy Mine, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Photo taken July 14, 2016.
I've spent at least a year of my life vacationing "above the bridge." Really nothing seems more representative of U.P. history than this relic of the copper mining industry, perched atop a hill above Hancock. I'm so glad it's been preserved, and is part of the Keweenaw National Historical Park.
