Christmas time, near Paris, the "snow" is only artificial
after photoshop to frame it.
There is a story with this (even a whole volume of my published diaries, in French, called "Il neige à Paris" - it snows in Paris.
It was near end of the year, we were living on top of the Butte Montmartre in Paris, my husband and me. Alas, he was less and less easy to live with and more and more ready to dispute and rise his voice for anything.
One evening, we were looking at Ice-skating under Eiffel Tour on Television. He declares suddenly "It snows in Paris!" I look outside, "it does not snow, François, it is artificial snow they blow from time to time for effect".
It does snow!!!
He was out of himself that I dared to contradict him "he has seen it with his eyes that it does snow on the television", and I 'dared to contradict what he was saying, again'. It does show! the tone mounted.
I decided, it is no more worth discussing, contradicting, trying to convince him of truth. "Bien, il neige à Paris."
OK, it does snow. (Even if here up the hill, does not seem to).
I believe, it was that evening that I decided our marriage can not go farther and it is not worth it. The turning point.
