There are so many colours and shades and even patterns the fall, nature, all around us gives us - free.
One of my last memories of my mother, who died early at 53, was going with her in the forest nearby and she collecting with joy autumn branches. I did not understand then her fascination with “those leaves”.
I did collect yesterday, back from the dentist, my mouth still numb, two of the leaves, very different from each other. Put them against different background. Took painkiller, went to sleep, forgot meeting I wanted to go.
Only this morning, did I remember “anyuka” as I used to call my mother. “Old mother”: I was 26 then. Old is everyone older then you… At age 18, my 26 year boss was also “old” in my eyes.
Now? I feel even at 70 I was so young!
