This is a stop action shot of a single drop of milk. The three droplets seen are the remains of the central rebound pillar as it falls back into the milk. To freeze the motion I used an SB-800 flash at 1/128 power triggered with an IR detector.

Now I'm really making messes in the basement! Fortunately it only took 2 eggs to get this shot. There was egg everywhere! Next time I'll use a slower BB and hence less kinetic energy! This one, at 750 feet/sec. was a bit fast for my regular SB-800 flash.

Having a bit of fun with high speed flash photography. I used an SB-800 flash set to 1/128 power triggered with an IR detector on the drop of water.
