Our passage into the San Juan harbor at sunrise provided a beautiful view of the old Fort and lighthouse.

I was pleased with the Nex 7's low light performance. While definitely not as good as a full frame camera such as the D800 and certainly not as good as the all time best low light camera, the D3s, the Nex was very usable as long as I didn't go above 1600 ISO in normal modes (I will post images in the coming days shot with the Nex 7's low light mode which takes a series of 5 shots in rapid succession and high ISO and then averaging them with pretty amazing results).

Abandoning the cold weather out west, we start our Caribbean cruise on a windy day in Florida. I decided, with some trepidation, to see if I could spend the whole trip with my mirrorless Nex7, leaving behind the D800. I'll reserve judgement until I have thoroughly evaluated and processed the images to see if it was the right decision to use the lighter and easier to travel with NEX.
