We didn't build the ice sculpture thing (Inuksuk - Thanks to Carolyn aka white chipmunk for explaining to me what this is) on frozen Lake Minnewanka but it did make a great foreground element as well as blocking the sun so that the sundog or parhelion becames much more evident. Thanks to whoever created it! ;-)

The blue cast comes from switching the white balance to tungsten in RAW. To give the sun light a warmer look I used a warming filter in PS with a circlular mask.

I enjoyed a beautiful but cold (17 degrees F) sunrise in Teton Valley on the Idaho side of the Tetons.

My D800 is with Nikon having the left focus point issue fixed so I'm back to using the familiar and reliable D3s which has served me so well through the years.

It was glorious sunrise in Swan Valley overlooking the South Fork of the Snake River and the prominent crepuscular rays only added to the drama of this new day.
