My favorite moment from that morning. Mom reaching up and taking the stick from dad to add to the nest with both of them having it in their beaks at the same time. Impossible to get focus through all the branches but still saving the moment. One of my favorite moments.
About 14 Great Blue Heron nests atop a 50-60 foot high sycamore tree about 60-70 yards away or so. Saw the nests this past winter, went back to find them active. Extremely overcast day the first day, plus backlit. Went back today but even with sun it never shines on them plus branches prevent getting good focus. Photo quality lacking on many, hoping to continue following their progress. Sorry for the extreme number of photos. :)

Canada goose nest among the cypress tree root knees. They used to have a nest here every year many years ago. Hoping all 5 hatch in the future. Will try to follow their progress.

Hard to see but two new chick hidden just above the nest. Went back to the great blue heron rookery with about a dozen nests for a few minutes since it had been a while. Definitely chicks in the nests! First time for me to see any. Very overcast and backlit. Quality and focus not so good due to distance, all the branches in the way, cropped and very windy but so cool to see them. Will definitely try to make it back in better lighting before the buds on the trees form leaves.
Sorry for so many more photos, just saving to albums. Taken same day as the new gosling photos.

Triplets! Made a quick stop at the great blue heron rookery. First time in 2 1/2 weeks. Chicks are growing and getting a bit more active. Hoping to make it back again if possible. Not happy with the quality of these but still super cool to watch them.
