Germany went through a period of hyperinflation in the 1920s. This resulted in interesting postage stamps with very high denominations. This is a mint 200 mark stamp with a 2 million mark overprint (= Scott Catalogue # 269). It was produced in 1923.
"Deutsches Reich" means "German Empire".
