The Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum in Sugarcreek, Ohio, is one of the largest heavy timber structures in North America. The 18-stall roundhouse and surrounding complex, completed in 2011, is home to an extensive collection of locomotives, freight cars, passenger cars, and other equipment collected by Jerry Joe Jacobson, late owner and CEO of the Ohio Central Railroad System. The roundhouse and backshop are not just for show – they are used to overhaul, repair, refurbish, and maintain the collection, which currently includes 23 steam locomotives and 28 diesel locomotives.
