The Iowa Traction Railway (IATR) is the last all-electric interurban common-carrier freight railroad operating in the United States. It was founded as the Mason City & Clear Lake Traction Railroad in 1896, running between its namesake communities. Today, operated by Progressive Rail, Inc., it serves several customers located between Clear Lake Junction in Mason City and the shops in Emery, and interchanges with both the Canadian Pacific and Union Pacific in Mason City. The portion of the line between Emery and Clear Lake is intact but rarely used.

The IATR attracts many photographers due to its antique locomotives; they are among the oldest still operating in freight service anywhere in the world.
