Jim Machacek's 2-foot-gauge Northfield & Cannon Valley 0-4-0 (built in Czechoslovakia) works upgrade out of the depot. Ever October, Jim would open up his private railroad to the public and give free rides around his property. Jim passed away in June 2012, and the railroad is no more.

One of the nice traditions for Minnesota steam locomotive enthusiasts was the annual visit to Jim Machacek's 2-foot-gauge Northfield & Cannon Valley Railroad. The first weekend in October, Jim would fire up his little 0-4-0 (built in Czechoslovakia) and give free rides around his property. Jim passes away in June 2012, and the railroad has been shuttered for several years. Only great memories remain.

Jim Machacek's 2-foot-gauge 0-4-0 (built in Czechoslovakia) works upgrade towards the depot, past the cornfields that surrounded his property. Ever October, Jim would open up his private Northfield & Cannon Valley Railroad to the public and give free rides. This ended after a terrible accident in 2008, and Jim passed away in 2012.
