Shot with my Olympus OM-10 loaded with Lomochrome Purple 35mm 100-400 (expired 5/2022)

I am so so grateful to my friend Rachel (www.flickr.com/photos/rdubbs/ & www.instagram.com/rachelwinslow/?hl=en). She is an amazing artist and one of my favorite artists. She was in town for her Solargraphy showing and scheduled a photowalk with her Chicago photo friends at the Garfield Park Conservatory. I have been shooting such awful pics and when Rachel said she was going to shoot a roll of flowers, rewind it and shoot portraits over them, I asked her if I could share the idea. So many artists would be offended by having their creative idea borrowed, but Rachel was sooo sweet and said yes with no hesitation. I ended up shooting the best roll of film I've shot in years. I am so proud of these pics.

I never really celebrate my birthday and this summer, my cousin's called and said this year I HAD to celebrate. So they gave me a month to make a plan. I decided it would be nice to go to NYC, and it all just came together perfectly. It was the most AMAZING trip, and I shot so much.

When rewinding my Lomochrome Purple roll in my SLR, the film split from he canister. I was able to get in the dark and secure it in a dark container, in a box and covered the box in dark tape. (Analogue Lover Life!) I found an awesome film printing shop in Washington Squ. Park (5R Photo Lab), nerded out with Victoria about film for 45 minutes and they saved my photos!!

Of course I still have 3 more rolls I need to get developed, but I absolutely love these pics!! <3
