View at the Pine Cone Courtyard in the Vatican Museum.
In the foreground is the Sphere within Sphere sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro, and behind it the Fontana della Pigna (Pine Cone Fountain), for which this courtyard is named.
The skin of the outer sphere is reflective while inside both spheres have cogwheel and gear-like patterns. The artist says the inner sphere represents the Planet Earth and the outer Sphere Christianity.
