The Reliquary of the Holy Corporal of Bolsena is the centre piece of this room.

The Reliquary was specially created to contain the corporal (liturgical cloth) from the Miracle at Bolsena. The corporal cloth is believed to be stained with the Blood of Christ during the celebration of transubstantiation during a Mass in 1263.

This is one of the most important medieval (14th Century) enamel metal art still surviving. It was moved to the museum from the Cappella del Corporale in the Duomo of Orvieto.

This enamel painted work of gold and silver is attributed to Ugolino di Vieri of Siena; circa 1337-1338. Each side of the double-sided reliquary is a representation of the façade of Orvieto's Duomo. On one side are twelve scenes telling the story of the Corporal of Bolsena, and on the other are scenes Passion of Christ. There are a total thirty two scenes.

On the photo here is seen the side depicting the Passion of Christ. It is roughly 1.4 meters (4 feet) tall.
